In many cases, there is no implementation of a fully automatic annotation process available or the researcher needs more intellectual control over an annotation process that can still be partly automated. Frequently, such processes make use of pattern searches by means of regular expressions in which any hit at the surface of the data is annotated with a certain feature label. Other cases involve the on-the-fly scrutiny and correction of an otherwise automatic annotation process.
In this section of the tutorials, tools and processes are illustrated that make use of this approach.
